Born Wise is not a school by choice – we are something more.
We are a living breathing community, inspired by the philosophy of alloparenting – a term to describe the embodiment of the concept of “it takes a village to raise a child”.
This means we explore learning and caring for children from the idea that our wellbeing is nourished when of children are nurtured by the wisdom of many – a whole community.
We honour the voices of children, documenting their stories as seeds for a new culture, and supporting families to bring learning and growth into their everyday lives.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
- Child Centered & Earth-Rooted: Nature is our teacher. Every experience is guided by curiosity, connection, and respect for the land.
- Families as Co-learners: Parents and caregivers engage in their own growth alongside their children.
- Flexible & Local: Our approach can be woven into any land or community, creating a unique rhythm wherever we go.
Learning at Born Wise doesn’t stop when families leave our space. We create experiences that ripple beyond the hours spent with us, supporting lifelong growth, connection, and curiosity at home.
ONGOING PROJECTS
What began as a small circle in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, is now growing into a network of micro-communities around the world. We are working behind the scenes on a number of grass roots projects. Our aim for each community to be a living expression of our philosophy, rooted in local culture, land and families. Social & Emotional Wellbeing as the foundation for learning
Humans are born with an innate capacity for learning. The Born Wise philosophy views the child as infinitely wise and places emphasis on nourishing a life-long love of learning. We facilitate play & nature based programs and focus on social & emotional well-being – to create a strong foundation for all other learning areas. Combining 20 years of educational experience and research, we have created programs and teachings for all ages.
Your whole family will experience a sense of empowerment and wellbeing, revealing each individual’s unique potential and contribution.
